Smoky Quartz

Smoky Quartz comes in a range of shades from very light to almost black. Geologists believe that the colour is dependent on the level of radiation the quartz has been exposed to, as it is often found in granitic rocks which tend to have radioactivity. It is found throughout the world, including in the Cairngorms in Scotland.

Smoky Quartz is the ultimate warrior and protector; there is evidence of it being worn in battle from Boadicea right the way up to soldiers during the first world war. This is because it keeps you grounded throughout all situations and it reminds you to stand in your power. It connects you to the ancient wisdom of the land and reminds you not to keep repeating self limiting patterns.

Smoky Quartz has taught me a lot about myself, as it helps with inner reflection. It’s useful to have close by for those times when you are struggling to quiet your mind to meditation, as it strips back all of the rubbish and brings you back to the core of the inner you. When I’m struggling to understand the world and why things are happening, it is my go to stone.
